Ralph Eugene
Miller Sr.
August 28, 1945 – April 17, 2026
Ralph Eugene Miller Sr., of Russell, Pennsylvania, passed away with his son, Ralph Eugene Miller Jr., by his side, after a brief illness, with the support of family and friends throughout. He was born August 28, 1945, in Warren, Pennsylvania, the son of Charles H. Miller and Velma King Miller Hansen.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles H. Miller; his brother, Robert Glenn Miller; and his sister, Kathy Lurine Rhodes.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Darlene Miller; his son, Ralph Eugene Miller Jr. (Margie Ortiz) of Amarillo, Texas; his daughter, Jody Sue Miller (Sean Williams) of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania; and his grandson, Cole Steeler Miller of Macomb, Illinois.
He is also survived by his mother, Velma Hansen, and his brother, James C. Miller, both of Pearland, Texas; his sister-in-law Sue Lauffenburger, (Ray) of York, South Carolina; Kurt Martin (Jayne) and Karen Martin of Russell, Pennsylvania; and Kevin Martin (Pam), of Warren, Pennsylvania; along with many nieces and nephews.
Ralph served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1968 during the Vietnam War. He then worked at Penelec for 34 years, retiring in 2002.
He liked to stay busy working on vehicles, staying active, and fixing things. Before and after the Internet, his son considered him Mr. Google when it came to projects around the house. He especially enjoyed his weekly breakfast with friends.
After retiring, Ralph and Darlene spent 22 years traveling the country in their RV. They visited 49 states, saw most all of the national parks, and spent time with family, friends, and Navy buddies along the way.
He also cared deeply for his dogs—Phoebe Irene, Maggie Mae, and Maddee Sue.
Ralph will be remembered for the life he built and the way he showed up for his family.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penna Ave E, Warren, PA, 16365. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
