April 18, 1932 – April 19, 2021
Phyllis E. Bjorkquist, 88, of Warren, Pa., passed away April 19, 2021, at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House. Phyllis was born on July 18, 1932, in Ridgway, Pa., to the late Ben and Minnie Pearson Oknefski. Phyllis worked for a few years at Bakers Cleaners, and then for over 30 years at Anderson's / Warren Shurfine from which she retired. Phyllis and her late husband John A. "Cadillac John" belonged to the Antique Car Club. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Woman's Club. She enjoyed crafts and crocheting. She donated lap robes to the area nursing homes and the Cancer Center. She was always there for a friend in need and was very devoted to her family. Phyllis is survived by her children; Gary (Terry Jo) Bjorkquist of Clarendon, Pa., Benjamin (Crystal) Bjorkquist of Warren, Pa., Doreen "Dodie" Seymour of Warren, Pa., and Karen (Tim) Wilcox of Warren, Pa., Her sister, Alice Leonard of Ridgway, Pa.; eight grandchildren; Tara Seymour, Elizabeth, John and Lacy Bjorkquist, Jake and Amber Arrance, Garret and Travis Wilcox; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two sisters; Eunice Steis and Lois Oknefski; five brothers, Frederick, Walter, Robert, Kenneth, and Harry Oknefski; and two grandsons, Matthew Seymour and Brody Bjorkquist. Friends will be received from 10 till noon on Saturday April 24, 2021, at the Peterson- Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penna Ave E. Warren, Pa. A funeral service will be held at noon with The Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, pastor, First Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be at the Warren County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be made to The Hospice House, One Main Ave, Warren, Pa., 16365.
