Philip Gerald Jones, 79, of Russell, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 20, 2023, at his residence. He was born on March 17, 1943, in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late Gerald M. Jones and Ruth L. Bernard Jones. Following High School, Philip served in the United States Air Force and the United States Army for 25 years, and was discharged as a Tech Sergeant E6, and then served in the Air National Guard, and U.S. Army reserves. Philip worked at Struther's Wells, the G.G. Green, and the Warren County School District. He was a member of the Wiltsie Community Church, and the American Legion in Lakewood and Frewsburg. Philip enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all loved his family and his Church. Philip is survived by his son, Kevin Jones and wife Mimzie of Russell, PA; grandchildren, Josh Jones of Irvine, PA, Zachary Snyder of NYC, and Tim Conklin of Warren; two nephews, and two nieces. In addition to his parents, Philip was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Rose Miller Jones, whom he married on July 7, 1962; and sister, Anna Mae Cobb. Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna Ave. E., Warren, PA, on Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, and for one hour prior to a funeral service that will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 11:00am, with Rev. Todd Venman, pastor, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Oakland Cemetery.
