Pauline Alice VanVolkinburg, 91, of Clarendon, PA passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016, in St. Augustine, FL. Pauline was born July 14, 1925, in Warren, PA. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Esther (Honhart) Smith.

Pauline was a graduate of Warren High School.  She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, where she was involved with the Lutheran Women's Group.  She enjoyed knitting, cards, bowling and quilting.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen McQuaig, and husband Gene, of St. Augustine, FL and Emily Schultz, and husband Mike, of North East, PA. She also has two grandchildren, Bonnie Thibault, her husband, Wylie, and their children, Tyler and Dylan, and Amy Lamm, her husband, Preston, and their children, Addy and Parker; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on February 22, 1997, by her husband, Elmer A. VanVolkinburg; her son, Mark Amsey VanVolkinburg; and seven siblings, Robert Smith, Charles Smith, Allen Smith, Marjorie Flick, Barbara Olsen, Dorothy Bowser and Ruth Morris.

Friends will be received at the First Lutheran Church, 109 W. Third Ave., Warren, on Wednesday, August 24, from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time a funeral service will be held there with The Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in Westview Cemetery in Starbrick, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a charity of choice.
