Obituary

Paul Minugh, 85, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 20, 2022, with Carol, the love of his life and his Valentine of 65 years by his side.  Born August 5, 1936, to parents Henry and Pearl Jones Minugh in Oktaha, Oklahoma, and was reared by his grandparents, R.A. and Susie Alice Jones. He graduated from Oktaha High School on May 13, 1954.  He volunteered for duty in the US Army in 1955 and was stationed at Fort Meyers, Virginia and served until 1957 with the honor guard, riding wheel team on the Caisson.  During the last three months of service, he had the honor of leading the Cap horse, Blackjack, behind the Caisson.

On June 25, 1957, he married Carol E Haight.  Paul and Carol were foster parents for Warren County Children and Youth for 44 years and touched the lives of hundreds of children throughout those years.

Paul was a Scoutmaster for Troop 50 Chief Cornplanter Council for 9 years and was Scoutmaster for two Philmont trips in 1979 & 1982, Scoutmaster for two National Scout Jamborees in 1981 & 1985, and one World Scout Jamboree at Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1983.

He retired from National Forge in 1994 after 35 years of dedication.

In addition to his loving wife, Carol, Paul is survived by a daughter, Crystal (Paul) Brutscher of Waverly, NY and a son, Curtis (Bonnie) Minugh of Ludlow; one grandson, Joshua (Katie Parker) Brutscher of Troy, NY; granddaughters Alyssa (Mason) Smith of Decatur, Alabama; Brittany (Zack) Byers of Sheffield, PA; Taisha Minugh of Indiana, PA; Haili (Ryan) Nelson of Ludlow, PA; and six great grandchildren.  He is also survived by two brothers, Floyd Minugh of Fresno, California and Avon Minugh of Oregon and sisters Shirley Anderson of Hanford, CA and Sandy Lamb of Twin Falls, Idaho.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bill Minugh and Bob Minugh from California.  In childhood, he was also preceded in death by brothers, "Junior" Minugh and Clifford Lee and a sister, Alice Faye.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA, on Sunday, January 23, from 2 to 5 pm. A funeral service will be held there at 11 am on Monday, January 24, with Rev. Jeanne Beers, officiating.

Burial will be in the Gibbs Hill Cemetery, Ludlow, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Shriner's Children's Hospital 1645 W 8th St, Erie, PA 16505, or Ludlow Volunteer Fire Department, T560, Kane, PA 16735.
