Paul Elmer Gray, age 96, formerly of Warren, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, March 2, 2014, in Spring Hill, Florida. He had been a resident of Florida for the past four years.
Paul was born January 30, 1918, in Warren, PA, the son of the late Ralph Lee and Genevieve Porter Gray. Paul was a 1935 graduate of Warren High School and was employed by the National Forge Company for 37 years before retiring in 1980. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene for over sixty years, where he was a former Sunday School teacher. Paul also served in the Civilian Conservation Corp.
He was the loving father of three daughters: Gayle Grant, of British Columbia, Canada, Carolyn Henry, NH, Anita Knapp, PA; and two sons, Alan Gray, NH, and Duane Gray, FL; two sisters, Rachel Chandler and Madeline Colvin; and three brothers, James, Dorian and Russell Gray. He is survived by 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Estella Reider, whom he married on May 20, 1941, in Warren, Pennsylvania; his brothers Melvin, Herman, Wendell and Merle Gray, and sisters Helen Titsworth and Adelle Mead.
Donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, or to a favorite charity. No public service is planned at this time.
