Olof Charles "Charlie" Johnson, 57, a lifelong area resident of Russell, PA, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2024, at his residence. Charlie was born March 21, 1967, in Warren, the son of David E. Johnson, who survives and Rena Young, who also survives. Charlie was a 1986 graduate of Eisenhower High School. After high school, Charlie served in the U.S. Army Reserves and U.S. Coast Guard.  When he returned home, he went into the workforce and was employed at Whirley Industries Inc., retiring due to illness. Charlie attended Gouldtown Community Church as a young man. He loved to cut wood, muzzleloader hunting, fishing, trapping, and enjoyed his family and friends. In addition to his parents and stepmother, Kristine Johnson, Charlie is survived by his four children, Britny Elaine Ordiway and husband Drew of Warren, James Earl Johnson of Warren, Erik David Johnson of Warren, and Kaitlin Brianna Johnson of Oil City; five grandchildren; sisters, Cammie Lynn Allison and husband Randy of Clarendon, Bonnie Jean Giffin of Sumter, SC, and Mimzie Sue Jones and husband Kevin of Russell; and several nieces and nephews. Charlie was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elmer and Edith Johnson; maternal grandparents, Earl & Virginia Young, uncle Daniel C. "Sonny" Johnson; and aunt Diane "Sis" Harroun. Memorial donations may be made to offset funeral expenses to the go fund me account set up for Charlie. A Memorial service for Charlie will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Gouldtown Community Church, 1860 Howard Rd., Russell, PA 16345, at 11:00am, with Rev. Larry Condron, pastor, Good News Community Church, officiating.
