Norma A. Schaffer, 91, of Warren, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the John & Orpha Blair Hospice. Norma was born August 18, 1924, in Wiconisco, PA. She was the daughter of the late Clayton D. and Estella V. Enterline Hoffman. Norma was employed by the Warren State Hospital as an occupational therapist, from which she retired after 22 years. She was a member of the former First Salem United Methodist Church, where she and her late husband were members of the Persuaders. She was also a former member of the Amaranth Society. She and her husband traveled the country extensively in their RV. Norma also stayed active square dancing, knitting, crocheting, reading, playing cards and spending time with family. Norma's life was her family, her greatest joy was raising them, and she loved being surrounded with them, and attending all the events and celebrations. She will live in the hearts of all forever. She is survived by four daughters, Connie Mullhaupt, and fiance', Paul, of Jamestown, NY, Kay Caldwell, and husband, Terry, of Warren, Debbie Briggs, and husband, Dan, also of Warren, and Betti Jo Bimber, and husband, Tim, of Scandia. She also has ten grandchildren, Kym Wolcott, and husband, Brian, Amy Saporito, and husband, Mike, Tracy Weaver, and husband, Jeff, Kelly Caldwell, Eric Briggs, and wife, Debbie, Mandy Signorino, and husband, Rocky, Christopher Bimber, Jenna Kibbey, and husband, Thomas, Brandon Bimber and Andy Bimber; seven great-grandchildren, Scott, Shannon, Erin, Braedan, Colten, Hunter and Avah; one niece, Sandy Rauchut, Lebanon, PA; and her beloved dog, Gizmo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 2008, by her husband, Charles L. Schaffer, whom she married on February 28, 1946 and two sisters, Leona Dietrich and Helen Miller. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to Hospice of Warren County, 1 Main Avenue, Warren, PA 16365 or Paws Along The River, 212 Elm Street, Warren, PA 16365.
