Obituary

Nancy Louise (Sleeman) Szopinski, 70, of Ashville, NY, and previous lifelong resident of Warren, PA, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at her sister’s residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on April 4, 1956, in Warren, PA, to Mary Louise Sleeman and the late Thomas Duane Sleeman.

Nancy married her husband Alan Szopinski on November 28, 2005.

Nancy was a 1974 graduate of Warren Area High School. She grew up on a dairy farm and went to work as a factory worker at Cummins Engine for over 30 years. She honorably served her country in the United States Army and the Army Reserves. She was an animal lover and loved horses and dogs. She was a woman of service; she loved her family and was a great caretaker to those who needed it. She was a faithful follower of Christ.

Nancy is survived by her husband; her stepson, Alan J. (Tara) Szopinski and his children Cooper and Clora; her mother, Mary Louise Sleeman; her siblings, Robert (Dianna) Sleeman, Randall (Karen) Sleeman, Tracy Sleeman, and Douglas Sleeman; nephews, Aaron and Zachary Sleeman, and nieces, Rebecca (Pat) Carpenter and Brianna Sleeman.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father on January 1, 1975, her niece Heather (Sleeman) Wilcox on May 3, 2023, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penna Ave E, Warren, PA, 16365. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 23, at 2:30 PM at Kitchen Cemetery on 5253-5281 Yankee Bush Rd, with Rev. Alan Jones officiating, and full military honors presented by the Youngsville American Legion.
