Myron "Mike" Dexter, 79, of Warren, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020, doing what he loved, working in his garden. Mike was born on July 6, 1940, in Warren, PA. He was the son of the late Wesley and Clara (Thomas) Dexter. Born and raised in Warren, PA, where he graduated from Warren High School and worked for the U.S. Forest Service for 36 years and also as a private surveyor. He was a charter member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his grandchildren. They were his greatest joy in life. He also enjoyed bowling and throwing horseshoes and playing cards with his friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sherry (Rhoades) Dexter, whom he married on June 10, 1967, at St. John's Lutheran Church; three children, Michael Dexter, and wife Kimberly, Scott Dexter, and wife Martha, Michele Deppen, and husband Brandon, all of Warren; seven grandchildren, Natashia Janis, Alannah Dernoski, Paige Dexter, Caleb and Jerika Dexter, Ashleigh and Mikaala Deppen; 5 great grandchildren, Gabriel, Henry, Cheyenne, Mackenzie and Nolan. Friends will be received from 3-6 PM on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. E. Warren, PA 16365. The family has asked that you dress in your favorite casual clothing. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, June 18, 2020, at the Funeral Home, with Pastor Bill Hargenrader and Don Deppen, officiating.
