Milton LaVerne
Johnson
April 19, 1943 – May 7, 2026
Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc.
11:00 am - 2:00 pm (Eastern time)
Milton LaVerne Johnson, 83, of Russell passed away on May 7, 2026. Milton was born April 19, 1943, in Jamestown, New York, to the late Glenn and Blanche (Gage) Johnson. Milton graduated high school then joined the workforce as a Truck Driver for Jamestown Rendering.
Milton married the love of his life, Karen (Knapp) Johnson on January 27, 1962. She survives at home.
Milton was a hard worker. He worked to provide for his family, driving truck for Jamestown Rendering before it became Baker Commodities, where he retired after over 40 years. Milton always had a friend wherever he went whether it was his neighbor or someone from the factory or his trucking route. If someone new moved into town, he would ride his side by side down and introduce himself, finding out all he could about them. In his free time, Milton enjoyed hunting and riding around town. He was ultimately a family man who enjoyed spending time with his wife and his sons, tinkering around the garage or sitting, eating dinner. He will truly be missed by all.
“Do something nice for someone everyday.”
Milton is survived by his wife Karen, and their children; Jay Johnson, Jeff(Tiffany) Johnson, and James (Lori) Johnson. He is survived by his grandchildren; Nate, Jessica, Lindsey, Dale, Tori, Jennifer, Tanner, Chase, Alan, and Brandon, as well as eight great-grandchildren. Milton is survived by his sister, Shirley Holt, and his brother, Terry Johnson, as well as several nieces and nephews who will fondly remember him as Uncle Milty.
Milton is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers; Curtis, David, and Allen Johnson.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. Friends and family are welcome for visitation at the funeral home on May 16 from 11AM- 2PM. Funeral services will be held at 2PM at the funeral home. In addition, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
