Misulich, Jr.
October 10, 1939 – March 3, 2014
Michael J. Misulich, Jr., 74, of Tiona, PA passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014. Mike was born October 10, 1939, in Sheffield, PA, the son of the late Michael J. Misulich, Sr. and Anna V. Misulich.
Mike attended Sheffield High School. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1957 to 1960; and then served in the US Army until 1965. He worked for Pittsburgh DesMoines Company for two years and took pride in helping to build the St. Louis Arch; and later was employed by Osram-Sylvania as a Wire Plater, from which he retired in 2003.
Mike loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed racing season and loved being a pit crew member of his grandson Jimmy's #28H 358 Modified Racecar. He also enjoyed flea markets and going to garage sales--always looking for his next treasure. He especially liked collecting eagle memorabilia.
In addition to his mother, Anna Misulich, Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Ruth S. Misulich, whom he married January 28, 1961, at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church; four children, two sons, Joseph Misulich, and wife, Pamela, of Marysville, CA, and John Misulich, and wife, Victoria, of Tiona, PA; two daughters, Jennie Holden, and husband, Dean, of Tiona, PA and Cynthia Mealy, and husband, Brian, of Clarendon, PA; and one brother, James Misulich, and wife, Kathy, of Frisco, TX. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Christina Whitesell (Philip), Michael Misulich, III, James Holden (Morgan), Jessica Mealy, Kimberly Miston (Alex), Sarah Holden, Ashley Murvine (Randy), Christian Misulich and Tyler Mealy; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, Mike is preceded in death by his sister, Jean M. Misulich Renwick and great-grandson, Dillan M. Misulich.
Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, PA, on Friday, March 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, at St Anthony of Padua Parish, 7222 Route 6, Sheffield, PA with Rev. Fr. John Neff, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Warren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clarendon Fire Department and Ambulance Service, Main Street, Clarendon, PA 16313.
