IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Melissa Swanson
Braley
May 26, 2013
Melissa Swanson Braley, 33, of 2974 Cold Spring Road, Randolph, NY, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior following a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, May 26, 2013, surrounded by her family.
Melissa was born November 9, 1979, in Warren, PA, the daughter of Gary and Karen Clark Swanson of Russell, PA. Growing up in Russell, she was a 1998 graduate of Eisenhower High School. Melissa was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend to many. She had an incredible zest for life, and a smile for everyone. She was very devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She loved the family beach vacations to the Outer Banks and spending time with her many friends. Melissa also enjoyed crafting, reading, music, softball, and her years as a cheerleader. Throughout this courageous battle, Melissa touched many lives, more than any one could comprehend, and the entire family is grateful for that and the outpouring of support they received. She will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, Melissa is survived by her husband, Thomas S. Braley Jr., Randolph, NY, whom she married on September 21, 2002; two children, Taylor Braley, age 12, and Caidy, age 6; a sister, Kelly Carrington and husband Mike, Warren; her maternal grandmother, Susan Clark; and several nieces and nephews.
Melissa was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Beverly and Pete Swanson; and maternal grandfather, Ralph Clark Jr.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 pm on Friday May 31, at the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church, 210 Jamestown St., Sugar Grove, PA. 16350, and again for one hour prior to a Celebration of Life service to be held there on Saturday, June 1, at 12 noon, with Rev. Billy Hughes, pastor, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Warren County, 2 Crescent Park West, Warren, PA 16365 or the Warren Cancer Center, 2 Crescent Park, Warren, PA 16365
