Maxine Luella Miller, 89, a lifelong area resident of Warren, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center. Maxine was born July 6, 1928, in Strattanville, PA. She is the daughter of the late Austin A. and Garnett (Edmonds) Beichner.
She was employed by Clarion Glass Plant, G.E. in Erie, and the Warren County School District. Ultimately, she retired from Warren State Hospital after 39 years, working in various positions—her favorites were in Physical Therapy alongside Andrew Yurick and the Sheltered Workshop.
She was a member of the Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church for over sixty years. Maxine and her family were extremely gifted in music, performing in street dances and various venues.
A very generous and friendly woman, Maxine loved her family and visiting with people.
She is survived by four children, Kathy Stewart, of Youngsville, Albert Miller, of Warren, Carla DeVincolis, of Clarksville, TN, and Annette McCulla, of Warren; two siblings, Emogene Slabe, of Clarion and Delbert Beichner, and wife, Ellie, of York; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death on June 16, 1997, by her husband, Rolland W. Miller, whom she married September 14, 1951, in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church of Warren; and four siblings, Esther Gourley, Austin C. Beichner, Joseph G. Beichner, and Edwin Beichner.
Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn. Ave. E., Warren, on Friday, May 18, from 6 to 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, May 19, at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 11 Russell St., Warren, with Fr. James Gutting, officiating. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Clarion, PA.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial contribution should consider the Holy Redeemer Church Building Fund, 11 Russell St., Warren, PA 16365.
