Matthew R. Johnson, 49, of Warren for the last year and a half, and formerly of Chambersburg, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at the John & Orpha Blair Hospice.  Matthew was born July 19, 1966, in Warren, PA. He was the son of the late Robert W. and the late Lilith (Lacy) Johnson.

Matthew had previously worked for the United Refining Company in the security department.  He also worked as a dispatcher at the Target Corporation.  He was fascinated by trains, and spent a lot of time reading and researching trains and visiting train tracks.  He also enjoyed golf and football.

He is survived by his wife, Leslie, and their two children, Erin L. Johnson, and Matthew D. Johnson, who live at home; two sisters, Crissanda Akers, and husband, Jim, and Denise Winslow, and husband, Bill, all of Warren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Matthew was preceded in death by his sister, Alysse Johnson.

In accordance with his wishes, no services will be observed.
