Matthew Scott Bertolini, 48, of 117 E. Wayne St., Warren, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015, following an extended illness.

Matthew was born October 9, 1966, in Warren, the son of Rosemarie Carr Bertolini and the late Livio L. Bertolini.  Although Matthew was born with many challenges, including being deaf, he graduated from Warren Area High School in 1985 and received a diploma from the Hiram Andrews Center (Johnstown, PA) in Retail Distribution.   He was employed by the Blair Corporation for 23 years.   Matthew was an award-winning long-distance runner in many local events, enjoyed swimming at the YMCA, and was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan.  He was a gentle soul and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his mother, Rosemarie Bertolini; six siblings, Douglas Bertolini, and his wife, Donna, of Ft Collins, CO; Celeste Gustafson, and her husband, Randall, of Warren; Gregory Bertolini, and his wife, Jane, of New York City; Mark Bertolini, of Jamestown, NY; Michael Bertolini, and his wife, Beverly, of Peachtree City, GA; and Cameron Bertolini, and his wife, Julie, of Cary, NC, as well as a brother-in-law, Daniel Zalewski Jr., and seventeen nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Melissa Zalewski, and his niece, Laura Gustafson.

A graveside service will be held at the St. Joseph's Cemetery Mausoleum on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at 1:00 P.M., with Rev. Fr. Richard J. Toohey, pastor, St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, officiating.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Warren County YMCA, 212 Lexington Ave., Warren PA.
