Mary D. Shaffer, 84, of Warren, Pa., passed away on November 28, 2021, at Warren General Hospital. Mary was born on September 14, 1937, in Punxsutawney, Pa., to the late John and Florence Weaver Mauk. She worked at Solar Electric later known as Phillips Lighting, for 25 years from which she retired. After retirement she ran a child daycare in her home. She enjoyed the little ones as much as they enjoyed her. Mary liked doing puzzles and word searches but mostly she enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by them. Mary is survived by her daughter, Barb (John) Woods; a sister, Jane (Paul) Depp of Cuba, N.Y.; grandchildren, Keith (Sara) Woods, Stephanie (Rob) Arthurs and Brad (Jodi) Woods all of Warren.; six great grandchildren, BrookeLynn, Peyton, Kenley, Grayson, Camden, and Shayna. As well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband Samuel S. Shaffer in 2018; a son, Samuel L. Shaffer in 2001; two brothers, Lynn, and Gene Mauk. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family, with the Rev. James Swanson, pastor, Pleasant Community Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Russell, Pa. The family suggest memorial donations be made to Hospice of Warren County, One Main Street, Warren, Pa, 16365.
