Obituary

Mary Frances Pollock Pierson, age 71, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026, after a brief but very courageous battle with cancer.

Mary was born in the small town of Kinzua, Pennsylvania on December 30, 1954, to the late Joseph Pollock and Frances (Thorpe) Pollock. She was raised in Kinzua until she was in the third grade, when the town was submerged and the Kinzua Dam was constructed. Mary was always incredibly proud of her roots and never forgot where she came from.

She was a 1972 graduate of Warren Area High School. After graduation, she began employment in the office at Rexnord, where she made countless lifelong friends and where she met the love of her life, Greg. Mary worked for Rexnord for approximately 30 years, until the company moved out of Warren in 2005. She then continued her career at Northwest Savings Bank.

Mary met Greg Pierson in 1992. They quickly fell in love. They married on July 30, 1993, and welcomed their only child, Sara, that autumn. Together, they shared 33 beautiful years of love and life.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, Gregory Pierson; their daughter, Sara; two sisters, Helen Hunter and JoAnn Elmquist; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored. She was also a proud great-aunt, and as of recently, a great-great aunt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Frances Pollock.

Mary will be remembered for her contagious laugh, kindness, warmth, generosity and pure selflessness. She always had a way of making absolutely everyone feel loved, welcomed, and at home in her presence. Her love touched so many lives, and the memories that she leaves behind will be cherished forever. She will never be forgotten. To know Mary was to love her.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penna Ave, Warren, PA, 16365. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Sunday, November 1, from 5pm-8pm. A memorial service will take place at the funeral home on Monday, November 2, at 11am.
