It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary M. Davies, age 86, of Warren, PA, on August 16, 2024, at the home of her daughter Mary Jane Vincent's in Warren, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 6, 1938, in Warren, PA, daughter of the late Casimir Schmader and Kathleen L. (Daley) Schmader. Mary graduated from Warren Area High School, class of 1956. On December 31, 1955, she married the love of her life, David Davies, a year after he returned home from serving in the US Army during the Korean War, and they would have celebrated 69 years together this December. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Wayne, Stanley, and James Schmader; and four sisters, Dodie Straneva, Bonnie Pace, Kathleen Carr, and Susan Warner. She was also predeceased by a son, Edward J. Davies. Surviving in addition to her husband, David J. Davies, are two brothers, Robert and Dennis Schmader and a sister Jane Tutaro. She is also survived by three daughters, Jeanne (Steven) Smith of Great Valley, NY, Mary Jane (Michael) Vincent of Warren, and Theresa (Dean) Kent of Ellicottville, NY; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mary was a member of the Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church. She was an avid reader of historical non-fiction and a crossword champion. She loved and supported her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all their endeavors and by always being present at family gatherings. As per Mary's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service held. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Warren County, 1 Main Ave., Warren, PA 16365.
