Obituary

Martin T. "Ted" Sampson Jr., 83, of 16 Stephen Road, Warren, PA, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014, at the Warren General Hospital.

Ted was born October 1, 1931 in Warren, to the late Martin T. Sampson. He was raised by his late grandparents, Clarence and Anna Sampson. A lifelong Warren resident, Ted was a 1951 graduate of Warren High School. He then served in the US Marine Corp from 1951 - 1954 in the Korean War. Ted was also a witness to the A-Bomb test at Desert Rock.

Ted was later employed with Loranger Manufacturing for thirty seven years as a machine maintenance man. He was very mechanical and was handy at anything. He enjoyed old cars, tractors, and boats.  He and his family spent many years camping and boating in the summer, both here and in Canada. He taught dozens of people to water ski, and made many friends along the way.  He will be long be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Ted is survived by his wife, Marilyn Bimber Sampson, whom he married on September 10, 1955; two daughters, Joanne Kestner and her husband Larry, of  Dewittville, NY, and Judy Albaugh of Warren; six grandchildren, Timothy Sampson, Laura Martz, Marcus Albaugh, Vincent Albaugh, Delcie Kestner, and Henry Kestner; and three great grandchildren, Austin Sampson, Katie Sampson, and Ella Martz.  He is also survived by a daughter in law, Kathy Sampson, of Warren.

In addition to his father and grandparents, he was preceded in death by a son, Clifford Sampson in 2005.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc. on Monday, October 27, from 5-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held there on Tuesday, October 28, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Marcus Briggs, Chaplain, Warren General Hospital, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, and for the love of his dogs, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Warren County Humane Society 212 Elm Street, Warren, PA. 16365 or the Warren Cancer Center, 2 Crescent Park, Warren, PA 16365.
