Marjorie D. Ristau, 98, formerly of Warren and Chandlers Valley, died on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, in Twinsburg, Ohio. She had lived with her daughter and family for 12 years before needing to transition to a nursing home the past 2 years. Marjorie was born March 1, 1923, in Chandlers Valley, the daughter of the late Bennett C. and Helen Brown Danielson. Growing up in Chandlers Valley, she graduated from Sugar Grove High School. Following high school, Marjorie enrolled and graduated the Nursing School at the WCA Hospital in Jamestown, NY, becoming a Registered Nurse. She worked in New York City for awhile and for many years at Warren General Hospital and later was an office nurse for Dr. Raymond E. Lowe. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she attended Bible Study and served in many capacities through the years. Marjorie was proud of being active for more than 50 years with the Eastern Star, was a member of Amaranth, and had been an advisor for the Rainbow Girls. As an active and outgoing woman, she made many friends and will be fondly remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Melinda Young and her husband Robert of Hudson OH; a sister, Marilyn Grinnen of Weems, VA; and two grandchildren, Bennett Young and Sarah Young, both of Columbus, OH; sister-in-law Betty Danielson of Titusville and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death on April 24, 1993 by her husband, W. Howard Ristau, whom she married on June 30, 1945 in Chandlers Valley; and a brother, Marshall Danielson. Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc. 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA, on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held there a 12 noon, with Rev. Nancy Schwanken, pastor, Hessel Valley Lutheran Church, officiating.
