Marjorie Lucille Raines, 83, of Russell, PA, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at her residence.

Marjorie was born July 6, 1943, in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Fred A. and Marjorie L. (Stoops) Carter. She graduated from Academy High School in Erie, PA.

Marjorie attended the Alliance church and was strong in her faith. She enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, painting, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Matthew E. (Shellie) Raines of Scandia, Jennifer M. Raines of Scandia, William J. (Cheryl) Raines Jr. of Northeast, PA, and Curtis (Barb) Raines of Millcreek, PA; grandchildren, Ryan Raines, Lindsey Raines, Eric Raines, Zachary Raines, Dylan Raines, and Cody Raines; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Brace of Montana and Phoebe Hershelman of Erie; brother, Lloyd Carter of Oregon; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Msgt, William J. Raines Sr.; daughter, Lisa M Raines; brothers, Fred Carter and Kenneth Carter; and sisters, Carolyn Azevedo and Donna Jean Carter.

As per Marjorie’s request, no services will be held.
