Marjorie Mae Hoffman Meyer, 87, of 2516 Mohawk Avenue, Warren, PA, passed away on July 19, 2013, following a brief illness. Marge was born September 11, 1925, in Bradford, PA, the daughter of the late Perry and Margaret Webster Taylor. Marge was a 1943 graduate of Bradford High School and continued on to complete two years of Beauty School in Erie, PA.
She was the owner and operator of the La Vogue Beauty Salon in Warren since 1957. Marge was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Warren, and a former member and cook at the Kalbfus Gun Club. Marge was an avid hunter and fisher-woman and spent many years making trips to Canada to go fishing.
Marge is survived by one son, Rodd W. Hoffman and wife, Patricia, of Warren; one daughter, Linda M. Hoffman and spouse, Cindy, of Candler, NC; a sister, Pauline Miller, and husband, Andrew, of Knapps Creek, NY; five grandchildren, Jon Hoffman and wife, Beth, Warren, Steven Hoffman and wife, Kim, Warren, Chad Hoffman and wife, Shelly, Florida, Alicia Corey and husband, Paul, Warren, and Kristina Louie, and spouse, Rebecca, Crozet VA; twelve great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by long time friend, Connor Rhoney, and long time colleague and friend, Anita Smith.
In addition to her parents, Marge was preceded death on June 15, 2002, by her husband, Edward R. Meyer, whom she married in 1976; one brother, Richard Taylor; and a son, David Hoffman.
Friends were received at the St. John Lutheran Church, 200 Pleasant Drive, Warren on Sunday, July 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. and will also be received today, Monday, July 22, from noon to 2 p.m., at which time a funeral service will be held there with The Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, Pastor, and The Rev. Cindy Coleman co-officiating.
Interment will be in Weiler Cemetery, Warren, PA.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Warren County, or the Warren Cancer Center, 2 Crescent Park, Warren, PA 16365.
