Obituary

Marjorie Eleda Brenan, 90, a lifelong area resident of Warren, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 26, 2017, in Reston, VA.  Marjorie was born December 19, 1926, in Warren, PA. She is the daughter of the late John A. and Eleda M. (Simmons) Larson.

She was a 1945 graduate of Warren High School.  She attended Allegheny College, and completed her coursework at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, OH.  For many years, Marjorie was a school teacher in the Warren County School District.  She had taught grades 3 and 4 at Market Street and Pleasant Township Schools.  Marjorie was a very active life-long member of the First United Methodist Church in Warren.  She was also a member of the Warren Teacher's Association.  Marjorie enjoyed family, her many friends, and especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Dr. Kathryn Brenan, and husband, Thomas Gurlitz, of Reston, VA, and Sara Morrow, of Jerusalem, Israel; and one son, Michael Brenan, and wife, Susan, of Grand Island, NY.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Allison Gurlitz, Michael Gurlitz, Zach Morrow, Levi Morrow, and wife, Tikva, and Sam Morrow; and one great-granddaughter, Orit Morrow; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death on May 1, 1990, by her husband, Robert R. Brenan, whom she married on June 19, 1946; and her son-in-law, Robert Morrow.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penn. Ave. E., Warren, on Tuesday, October 31, from 4 to 7 p.m., and on Wednesday, November 1, at the First United Methodist Church, 200 Market St., Warren, for one hour prior to a service to be held there at 11 a.m., with Rev. Jon Swart, retired pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.
