IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margery M.
Lindsey
June 24, 1916 – March 22, 2018
Margery Chapel Lindsey, age 101, passed away on March 22, 2018, at the Rouse Home.
Marjorie was born in 1916, the daughter of the late Alvey and Goldie Bright Chapel. A lifelong Warren resident, she graduated from Warren High School in 1935.
She married Edward Lindsey in 1936 and devoted her life to caring for her family. For many years she was employed by Sylvania, from which she retired. She enjoyed baking, golfing, bowling, bocce, and casino play. Foremost, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a longtime member of the First Lutheran Church of Warren.
Marjorie leaves her family and friends a legacy of her decency and an unfaltering hard-work ethic. Her steadfast energy and efforts to care for her family during the depression, during WII on the home front while her husband served in the navy, and in the subsequent years of building and maintaining a family home continue to impact generations.
Marjorie is survived by three children, daughters Beverly (James) Moore and Susan (Dick) Morris and son Edward (Beverly) Lindsey; brother Glenn (Beverly) Chapel; and sister Florence Stewart; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Evelyn Lindell, Betty Mickle, Genevieve Lester, Geraldine Vanord, and Phoebe Bachkor and four brothers, Charles Chapel, Robert Chapel, Richard Chapel, and James Chapel.
A private memorial service for Marjorie and Edward will be held at the convenience of the family.
