Margaret H. McBride, 83, of Warren, died Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at Warren General Hospital. Margaret was born June 10, 1932, in Bradford, PA. She was the daughter of the late Margaret Deschler and Vernon Hadley.
After graduating from nursing school at Bradford Hospital, Margaret was a nurse at Warren General Hospital earlier in her career and later, for many years, worked at the Warren State Hospital, from which she retired after 30 years of service. Margaret was involved as a long-time volunteer with the Warren County Historical Society, and had served on the board of directors. She loved giving tours at the Historical Society and found joy exploring her family genealogy and spending time with her beloved neighbors and her family.
She is survived by three children, Keith Jones of Warren, Gretchen Ebling, and husband, Louis, of Wyoming, OH, and Sara Antol, and husband, Michael, of Wexford; three stepchildren, Jerry, Cathy, and Karen; four grandchildren, Karl and Maggie Ebling, and Grace and Michael Antol; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on November 27, 2007, by her husband, Eugene McBride, whom she married December 10, 1977; one brother, Donald Hadley; and step-son, Ronnie McBride.
Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Friday, April 1, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, at which time, a funeral service will be held there, with Rev. Rick Rohlin, pastor, Praise! Fellowship, officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery, Bradford, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cancer Care Center at Warren General, 2 Crescent Park West, Warren, PA 16365; the Warren Historical Society, 210 4th Avenue, Warren, PA 16365, or the Hillman Cancer Center, C/O UPMC Cancer Center, Development UPMC Cancer Pavilion, Suite 1B, 5150 Centre Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15232.
