Marcus Allen Mattson, 18, of Russell, and formerly of Pittsburgh and Raleigh, NC, died Friday, February 5, 2016.  Marcus was born March 17, 1997, in Jamestown, NY. He is the son of Ellie R. Mattson Holt and the step-son of Robert Holt, Raleigh, NC.

Marcus attended Eisenhower High School, and played football at Eisenhower and while living in Pittsburgh.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing; and also enjoyed music, singing and his guitar.  He was a member of the Lander United Methodist Church, and worked in Russell.

In addition to his mother and step-father, Marcus is survived by his siblings, Alyssa, Urrell and Dylan, who live at home; his grandparents, Jane and Larry Condron, Chandler's Valley; his great-grandmother, Eleanor Bittinger, Jamestown, NY; aunt, Cindy Mattson, Warren; and nephews, Brendon Mattson and Zach Wells; as well as many other close family relatives.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roy Mattson, and his great-grandfather, Joseph Bittinger.

A memorial service will be held at Lander United Methodist Church, 5582 Rt. 957, Russell, on Wednesday, February 17, at 2 p.m., with Rev. J. Mark Hurst, pastor, officiating.
