Lucille B. Alder, 94, formerly of 55 Highland Dr, Warren, PA, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Golden Living - Kinzua Valley Health Care.
Lucille was born was born August 20, 1917, in Franklin, PA., the daughter of the late Raymond and Ethel Jeffords Brown. Lucille served her country in the United States Marine Corp during WW II, and was honorably discharged on January 9, 1946. She was then employed as a Stenographer for the Department of Health retiring on February 1, 1977 in Buffalo, N.Y. Lucille was a lifelong member of the first United Methodist Church in Warren, PA. She volunteered her time at the Warren Public Library, loved to read, and enjoyed playing Bridge.
She is survived by a step daughter, Sybil Kennedy, Grand Island, N.Y.; step granddaughter, Deborah Kennedy – Rogoza and her husband Kenneth, Grand Island, NY; a step grandson, James P. Kennedy Jr. and his wife Stephanie; five step great grandchildren; two nephews, Steven Brown and his wife Mae, Warren, and Dennis Brown and his wife Judy, also of Warren; three great nieces and nephews, and six great – great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death on February 13, 1982, by her husband Albert Edward Alder, whom she married on October 11, 1976 in Grand Island NY; and her brother Howard Brown.
In accordance with Lucille's wishes, no visitation will be observed.
A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 200 Market St., Warren, PA. 16365 on Friday, July 6th at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Sterling, pastor, officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, or to the Golden Living – Kinzua Valley Activities Fund, 205 Water Street, Warren, PA. 16365
The Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren has been entrusted with arrangements.
