Lorna Mae Mack, 91, of Russell, was welcomed by her Lord and Savior to her eternal home on Saturday, April 8, 2017. Lorna was born June 2, 1925, in Russell, PA, the daughter of the late Howard LaVern and Gladys Rhea (Phillips) Ramsdell.
Lorna was a 1943 graduate of Russell High School. She worked at the Warren General Hospital for many years. She first started her career as a nurses' aide, ultimately retiring as a ward clerk. A very active member of the Russell United Methodist Church, Lorna was involved in teaching various Bible Studies; she was an instructor and student of the Ladies' Bible Study; and a member of the Wednesday and Thursday Circle. She was also a member of the choir and served as the church organist for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Goerlich, of Russell, PA, and Carrie Jewell, and husband, Jerry, of Scandia, PA; one sister, Marjorie Phillips, and husband, Willis, of Russell, PA; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Jewell (Crystal), Jenna Millsap (Dave), Jesse Jewell (Lynn), Julia Foster (Scott), Abby Perry (Jonathan), Jillian Jewell, and Cole Goerlich; eight great-grandchildren, Amelia, Quinn, Brynn, Brady, Kaylee, Levi, Camden, and Gage; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Lorna was preceded in death on August 31, 1985, by her husband, Robert E. Mack; two sisters, Joyce Anderson and Margaret Granquist; and son-in-law, Jamie Goerlich.
Friends will be received at the Russell United Methodist Church, 17 N Main St, Russell, PA, on Friday, April 14, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, at which time a funeral service will be held there with Rev. Jerome Kennedy, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Russell, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Russell United Methodist Church Building Fund, 17 N Main St, Russell, PA 16345.
