Lilyan C. Grosch, 84, of Warren, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at the Rouse Home. Mrs. Grosch was born August 19, 1930, in Warren, PA. She is the daughter of the late Ernest D. Champion and Agnes A. (Way) Stanley.
Mrs. Grosch was a 1948 graduate of Warren High School. She was formerly employed at New Process and worked part time at the Warren Times Observer. She also was a representative for DutchMaid clothing, and had cared for many of the elderly in the Warren area.
She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. Mrs. Grosch enjoyed the Warren County Fair, listening to country music and spending time with her family, and attending her children and grandchildren's sporting events. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Johnson, and husband, Dale, of Pittsfield, PA; and three sons, Gary A. Grosch, and wife, Barbara, of Gibsonia, PA, Ronald S. Grosch, and wife, Michele, of Warren, PA and James M. Grosch, and wife, Cheryl, also of Warren, PA; two brothers, J. D. Champion, of Youngsville, PA, and Donald Champion, and wife, Ruth, of Barnes, PA. She also has four grandchildren, Brian Swift, Jason Grosch, Savannah Grosch and Mitchell Grosch; two great-grandchildren, Logan and Kamryn Swift; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on May 18, 1998, by her husband, Glenn E. Grosch; her step-father, Paul Stanley; and an infant brother, James E. Champion.
Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, PA, on Saturday, February 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at which time, a funeral service will be held there, with Rev. Marcus Briggs, chaplain, Rouse Home and Warren General Hospital, officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Russell, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Warren County, 1 Main Avenue, Warren, PA 16365; Friends of the Rouse, 701 Rouse Avenue, Youngsville, PA 16371; or the Warren County YBSA (Little League), PO Box 451, Warren, PA 16365.
