IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lawrence Paul
Derosia
September 1, 1942 – November 14, 2024
Lawrence Paul DeRosia, 82, of Cimarron, CO, and formerly of Warren, PA, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024, following a brief illness. Larry was born September 1, 1942, in Warren, the son of the late Robert and Eveyln Gorman. Larry was employed at Struthers Wells as an architect for many years. He had a love for baseball that he shared in mentoring and coaching the American Legion Post 135 for over 20 years; but more than that he loved to leisurely play catch with his grandchildren. His next chapter in life, he ventured out west with his family to the Sequoias, where they started the first family business. They then landed in the mountains of the Cimarron Valley in Colorado where he fulfilled his dreams. He owned the Black Canyon RV Park and Campground where he shared his knowledge of the outdoors. He knew the land for its beauty: hunting, fishing, cooking and telling stories. He shared his love for life. His motto was, "It's all good," and "We make the best with what we have." Larry could skip at 82 because it kept him young at heart. Keep skipping dad! Larry will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Larry is survived by his children, Richard DeRosia of Montrose, CO, and Kimberly Retterer and husband Bud of Warren; grandchildren, Jake Retterer, Grant Retterer, Niki DeRosia, and Josh DeRosia; sisters, Wendy Johnson and husband Glenn of California, and Renee Harkins of Warren; brother, James Gorman and wife Elizabeth of Oregon; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Nancy V. DeRosia; son, Robert "Bob" DeRosia; and sister, Patricia Fossi. "You will forever be in our hearts. You are loved beyond measure. Until we are together again!" Those wishing to send online condolences may do so by visiting www.petersonblickfuneralhome.com
