Larry James "Pete" Fitzgerald, 64, of Fitz Lane, Clarendon, Pa., passed away on Monday, October 15, 2012 at Warren General Hospital.
Pete was born December 22, 1947, in Warren, Pa. the son of Lois Bailor Fitzgerald and the late Gerald "Putt" Fitzgerald.
He was a lifelong area resident and graduate of Warren High School. He then served the US Army in Vietnam as a MediVac Helicopter Crew Chief. Following his service, he worked in the boiler maker's union and traveled on many jobs prior to working for Pittsburgh Des Moines Steel Company as a welder, from which he retired. He was a member of the Clarendon VFW and the Sheffield Rod and Gun Club. Pete enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cookouts where he would spend time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by son, Michael J. Fitzgerald, and wife, Mandy, Clarendon, Pa. and their children Cody Shrefler and Seth Kraemer, daughter, Stephanie Snell, and husband, Justin, Sheffield, Pa. and their children Lydia and Madison, and son, Richard Fitzgerald, and wife, Mary, also of Clarendon, Pa. and their children, Kirsten Fitzgerald and Dylan Neely; two brothers, Gerald "Jock" Fitzgerald, and wife, Joyce, Clarendon, Pa., and Richard Fitzgerald, Sheffield, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death on July 11, 2005 by his wife, Pamela Jean Albaugh Fitzgerald.
Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. and for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held there on Thursday, October 18, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Kevin Haley, pastor, Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will follow at Warren County Memorial Park, with the Sheffield and Clarendon VFW and active duty Army personnel.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Caring for Life Foundation, PO Box 1756, Warren, PA 16365.
