Obituary

Larry Karney Dunham, 79, passed away Sunday, July 12th after an eight-year battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

He was born in Warren, PA, to Preston and Kathleen (McCullough) Dunham on November 29th, 1946, just nine minutes before his twin brother, Garry.

He graduated from Warren Area High School in 1965. He was a lay minister and spent his life with the nickname “The Deacon”. He worked at the New Process Company, Struthers Wells, Rexnord, and finally retired from the Department of Human Services.

Larry was a Pittsburgh fan, especially rooting for the Pirates and Steelers. He enjoyed being outdoors; fishing, hunting, and playing horseshoes. He was also an avid bowler. Larry did enjoy coaching Little League baseball. He was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Warren and then the Pleasant Community Church, upon their merger, and sang in the church choir and worship team. He loved being with family from sporting events to celebrating holidays. His grandkids were his pride and joy, and one of his favorite jobs was watching them as toddlers.

Larry is survived by his wife, Joanne (Charnisky) Dunham, whom he married on May 4th, 1974, his children, Tim Dunham and Wendy (Ted) Carrington of Warren, and Cindy Dunham of Carlisle, PA, and grandchildren, Annette “Annie” and Theodore “Trey” Carrington. He is also survived by his siblings, Londa (Ray) Barrett and Garry (Marlene) Dunham of Warren, and Amy Rydholm of Hamburg, NY, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peterson Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penna Ave E, Warren, PA, 16365. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 15, from 6pm-8pm. A funeral service will be on Thursday, July 16, at 11am, with an hour of visitation prior, held at Pleasant Community Church, 673 Pleasant Dr, Warren, PA, 16365, with Pastor James Swanson presiding.

Memorial donations in Larry’s name can be made to Pleasant Community Church.
