L. Lynn Schnarrs, 60, of Starbrick, died Sunday, July 3, 2016. Lynn was born January 30, 1956, in Petersburg, VA, the son of the late Clair and Wilma Jeanne (Skidmore) Schnarrs.
Lynn was a 1974 graduate of Warren High School. He had worked at the Warren State Hospital in building and grounds keeping for a brief time. He later worked at Whirley Industries, beginning his career as a technician, and later in production engineering as an administrative assistant from which he retired in December 2015 after 33 years. He was a member of the Pine Grove Sportsmen's Club, where he served as president and vice president for many years; a former board member of the trap league; and a longtime member of the trap team. He also was a member of the Kalbus Club, where he shot sporting clays. He was also a social member at the Eagles Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He enjoyed gardening, had a great appreciation for classic rock music, and hot-rod cars. He also loved his cats, Tiggy and Millie.
He was an avid Steelers fan. He enjoyed following Eisenhower Football for the past 10 years, and all of his grandchildren's accomplishments.
Lynn is survived by his daughter, Holly Coffaro, and husband, Ben, of Sugar Grove; and their children, Clayton, of Slippery Rock, and Kara, who lives at home. He is also survived by his half-sister, Lisa; his cousins, Ray Schnarrs and wife Diane, Meadville, Beverly Scott and husband Don, Meadville; his aunt, Barbara Schnarrs, Meadville; several distant cousins and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death in 2014, by his best friend, Steve Yurick; and dear friend and father figure, John Downey, also in 2014.
Friends will be received at the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church, 210 Jamestown Street, Sugar Grove, on Saturday, July 9, from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time, a memorial service will be held there, with Rev. Billy Hughes, pastor, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions should consider the Warren Co. Scholastic Trap League. Checks may be made to them and collected at the funeral home.
