IN LOVING MEMORY OF
L. Julu
Jerman
March 7, 1951 – December 27, 2024
Lois "Julu" Jerman passed away December 27, 2024, after many long courageous health care battles. Julu was born March 17, 1951, in Brookville, PA to the late Lloyd and Lois Smith Bowersox.
The family relocated in 1960 so her dad could help build the dam and she graduated from Warren Area High School in 1969. Julu married her high school sweetheart Jim Jerman. They lived the first year of their 53 years of marriage in Germany and together they had two children.
Julu attended Penn State and later graduated from Seneca nursing school. After 23 years, she retired from Warren State Hospital. Her and her husband owned Jarvis Cleaners for many years. Julu was a huge fan of college and pro football and loved watching her grandchildren compete in youth sports. She was very active in her community and served as past president of Zonta and was member the First Salem United Methodist Church.
Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, painting and books. She read everything. Clan of the Cave Bear and mysteries were her favorites. She loved playing board games and when she couldn't win, she cheated. She said this would make her children smarter.
She also loved movies and musicals as well. Wizard of Oz and the Phantom of the Opera were two of her favorites.
She was a warrior and never a victim. She battled polio as a child and later conquered breast cancer twice and two recurrences of lung cancer.
She is survived by her sister Deb (James BB) Brown, husband Jim, children Tracy and Terry, grandchildren Hayley, Hunter, Autumn, and Zach and two great granddaughters Savannah and Salem.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her brother Jerry.
Friends will be received on Monday December 30, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00, at the Peterson – Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penna Ave E. Warren, Pa. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday December 31, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Zonta Club of Warren, or the Warren Cancer Center, 2 Crescent Park, Warren, Pa. 16365.
