Kathryn "Katie" O. McBride, 87, passed away on May 8, 2017, in Warren, PA.  The fifth of 10 children, she was born on February 19, 1930, to parents Warren "Rusty" and Sarah Olson in Summerville, PA.  She married her husband, Vince McBride, on August 10, 1949, and moved to Baxter, PA, where they lived with their son, James.  In 1965, they moved to Warren, where Katie spent the remainder of her life.

Katie worked at Sylvania and as the tax collector for Elk Township for several years.  She was a devoted member of Scandia Covenant Church, where she worshiped and served as Treasurer for many years.  She was also actively involved in the church's Sunday school and Vacation Bible School programs.  Katie belonged to several bowling leagues with her beloved team, the Bowling Girls (or "BGs" for short), with whom she continued friendships for the remainder of her life.  She enjoyed golfing and crocheting, and in her later years, playing cards and board games (she enjoyed winning these games even more).  Always smiling and the life of the party, Katie joined the Red Hat Society where she enjoyed several outings with her fellow Red Hat members.   She will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Katie is survived by her son, James McBride of Russell, PA, and his wife Carolyn; her three granddaughters, Melody Gerasimek of Transfer, PA, Melissa Quealy of Alexandria, VA, and Molly Newton of Warren, PA; five great-grandchildren, Veda Jane, Ledger James, Crew Vincent, Benjamin James, and Harper Caroline; five siblings, Joseph Olson of Corsica, PA, Gloria Taylor of Warren, PA, Darla Fyock of Brookville, PA, and Richard "Dick" Olson of Warren, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

Since her passing, she has been reunited with her beloved husband, Vince, and five of her nine siblings: Phyllis Harrison, Bill Olson, Don Olson, Lorrain Olson, and Sally Olson.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn. Ave. E., Warren, on Friday, May 12, from 4 to 7 p.m.  A funeral service will be held at Scandia Covenant Church, 18 Peterson Rd, Russell, PA, on Saturday, May 13, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Jonathan Meyer, pastor, officiating.

There will be a private burial at Jefferson Cemetery, Brookville, PA.
