Karen Louise Jackson Nelson, 84, of Russell, PA, died December 27, 2022 after a brief illness. Karen was born September 17, 1938 in Warren, PA to the late Ruth Lord and Leonard Jackson. She graduated from Warren High School in 1957. She met Grant Nelson and they were married in 1961 in Warren and resided in Russell for over 60 years. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, and painting. She was a member of the Warren Art League, Russell Ladies Auxiliary, and the Warren Seventh Day Adventist Church. Left behind to cherish her memories are her husband, Grant Nelson, who she shared 61 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughter, Ruth (Robert) Myer of Warren and a son, Bruce (Melissa) Nelson, Warren. She is survived by her grandchildren Andrew Myer (fiancée Elizabeth Satterfield), Troy Myer, Ashley (Josh) Leitchenberger, Miranda (Kenda) Ransom and a great grandson, Landen Ransom. Karen was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Robert Jackson. Friends will be received on Friday, December 30, 2022, at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc, 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA from 11:00am to 12:00 pm. A funeral service will be held there at 12:00 pm, with Andrew Christiansen, pastor, Seventh Day Adventist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at the Pine Grove Township Cemetery in Russell, PA.
