January 20, 1947 – April 17, 2016
Karen Rae Ferry, 69, of North Warren, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Warren General Hospital, following a brief illness. Karen was born January 20, 1947, in Bradford, PA. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy (Rhoades) Crispen.
Karen was a graduate of Eisenhower High School, class of 1965. For the past ten years, she and her husband had lived in Hendersonville, NC, and had just recently returned to the Warren area to spend as much time with her family as possible. Family was extremely important to Karen, and she had been a Den Mother, as well as a Brownie Leader while her children were growing up. She was a member of the Russell Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and a charter member of the Gold Wing Road Rider Association.
An incredibly gifted artist, she was a certified Donna Dewberry One Stroke instructor. In addition to her artistic ability, she will be remembered for her wonderful culinary skills, and a great sense of humor. She was a truly loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Peter L. Ferry; three children, Todd Morrison, and wife, Patty, of Rutland, VT, Bill Morrison, and wife, Ronda, of Russell, PA, and Stephanie Martin, and significant other, Russ Martin, of Jamestown, NY; her dog-daughter, Zoey; two step-children, Christopher Ferry, and wife, Erin, and Michael Ferry, all of Arizona; 4 grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, John Ferry, and wife, Mary, of Russell, PA; sister-in-law, Marge Ridout, of Kennedy, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Wednesday, April 20, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Thursday, April 21, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at, which time, a funeral service will be held there with Rev. Rich Pearson, pastor, Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Warren Art League, PO Box 125, Warren, PA 16365, or Russell Volunteer Fire Department, 66 Perrigo Lane, Russell, PA 16345.
