IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kara Marie
Donaldson
March 1, 1980 – January 2, 2016
Kara Marie Giegerich Donaldson, 35, of Warren, passed away at home on Saturday, January 2, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Kara was born March 1, 1980, in Warren, PA. She is the daughter of Thomas and Elsie (Rapp) Giegerich of Warren, PA.
Kara was a 1998 graduate of Warren Area High School. Until her health no longer allowed, Kara worked for R.W. Larson as an administrative assistant. A very active member of the First United Methodist Church, Kara touched the lives of many, and will always be remembered for her singing and love of music. She also enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, and was a dedicated Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penguins fan.
In addition to her parents, Kara is survived by her husband of 13 years, Matt A. Donaldson; two sisters, Lori Snyder, and husband, Blair, of Lake City, and Jena Baile, and husband, Jason, of York; three nephews, Joel Snyder, Nevyn Baile and Eli Donaldson; two nieces, Hope Snyder and Rosslyn Donaldson; her mother and father-in-law, Gail Donaldson and Rev. Gary Donaldson, of Waterford; brother-in-law, Shane Donaldson, and wife, Colleen, of Edinboro; her canine companion, Dozer; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Kara was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Richard and Hazel Giegerich, and maternal grandparents, Myron and Pauline Rapp.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9 at First United Methodist Church, 200 Market St., Warren, PA with Rev. Dr. Mark Hecht, and Rev. Jon Swart, co-officiating, and Rev. Marcus Briggs, assisting. At Kara's request, please wear your favorite Pittsburgh attire; but because she loved people more than her teams, guests are encouraged to wear their favorite team's apparel.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Cancer Care Center at Warren General, 2 Crescent Park West, Warren, PA 16365.
