Obituary

June Lawson, 84, of Liberty Street, Warren, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Warren General Hospital.

June was born June 14, 1927, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and was daughter of the late Fred Elias and Florence Robbins Johnson. Fifty years ago, June and her late husband, Jim, moved from Shawnee, OK to Warren, Pa. They co-founded the Circle 8 Square Dance Club. As a master seamstress, she would make all of her and Jim's square dancing clothes, as well as the everyday clothes for her family.  She was a bookkeeper and cosmetician at Chiodo's Pharmacy for twenty-seven years before retiring in February 1993.  June enjoyed her family, bowling, hosting bridge clubs and was a staunch Oklahoma Sooner's fan.

She is survived by her two daughters; Leslie Lewis, Warren, Pa. and Lisa Isaksen, and her husband William, Lincoln, RI, and; two grandchildren, Michelle Croson, and her husband, John, York, Pa. and Lynne Ann Gartner, and her husband, Paul, South Riding, VA,; and four great-grandchildren, Jenna, Jacob, Sarah and Brady.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Otis Lawson, whom she married on February 8, 1947 in Oklahoma, and passed away in 1995; and three siblings, Maggie Jordan, Robert Johnson and Marjorie Jordan.

A celebration of June's life will be held at the family's home on Liberty St., Warren, on Sunday, March 18, 2012, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
