Judy E. Hottel, 69, of Warren, passed away Sunday, August 27th, surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer.

Judy was born December 30th, 1947 in Busti, NY, the daughter of the late Louis and Joyce Brunecz. She was a graduate of Southwestern High School before moving to Warren, where she was employed in the activities department at Warren State Hospital. In addition, she spent many years self-employed as the owner of the Office Lounge and Grumpys. She was a longtime member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun as well as the Exchange Club in Warren. Judy had a passion for life and was always on the go. She enjoyed her time playing bingo as well as gathering with friends, but her happiest times were those spent with her grandchildren who will miss her dearly. During her final months, she spent time creating beautiful memories for each to remember her by.

She is survived by her three children, Brenda (Chris) Whyte, Scott (Michele Johnston) Hottel, Jill (Dustin) Kerekanich, all of Warren; eleven grandchildren, Kayla, Chloee, Treyton, Sophia, Ashton, Kaden, Halia, Kiara, Delaney, Elliot and Jake; a sister, Vicki (Ron) Blackmer of Russell; two brothers, Nick (Tammy) Brunecz of Busti and Jim (Sally Bowen) Brunecz of Lakewood; two stepsisters, Sandy (Jim) Lyle and Sue (Bibb) Carlson and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson Tyler Hottel and stepmother Carol Brunecz.

On Sunday, September 3, at Pleasant Township Social Hall, 40 Fuller Avenue, a short ceremony will be held at 4 p.m., with a celebration of life to follow, lasting until 7 p.m., where family and friends are invited to gather and share the happy memories they have of Judy.
