Joyce M. Phelps, 85, of 205 Water Street, and formerly of Cobham Park Road, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at Golden Living Kinzua Valley.  Joyce was born June 26, 1929, in Warren, PA.  She was the daughter of the late Vernon L. and Martha M. Zobrist Mack.

Joyce was a graduate of Warren High School and attended L.P.N. School in Warren.  She was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Warren State Hospital, from which she retired.  For many years, she enjoyed attending continuing education, having taken classes at Edinboro off-campus for many years.  She will be remembered as a loving mother, wife and grandmother.  Joyce enjoyed flower gardening and her grandchildren's activities.  She and her husband were members of the Warren County Outdoor Club.

She is survived by two sons, Kevin Phelps, and wife, Martha, of Youngsville, and Jeffrey Phelps, and wife, Patti, of Warren, PA; four grandchildren, Ben Phelps of Ft. Collins, CO, Jenna Phelps, of Williamsburg, VA, Craig Phelps, of Northeast, PA, Michele Phelps, of Olean, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death on May 1, 2008, by her husband, Meredith "Red" R. Phelps, whom she married September 12, 1952; three brothers, Harold Mack, LaVerne Mack and Ronald Mack, and one sister, Gladys Smith.

Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, PA, on Friday, November 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at which time, a funeral service will be held there, with Rev. Marcus Briggs, chaplain, Warren General Hospital and Rouse Home, officiating.  Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Joyce's name to a charity of choice.
