Josephine Joan Schmader, 89, formerly of Griff Hill Road, Clarendon, PA, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022, at the Warren Manor. She was born on October 18, 1932, in Warren, the daughter of the late Sam Gerardi and Minnie Scalise Gerardi. She was a 1950 graduate of Warren High School. She was a Quality Inspector for GTE and was also a machine operator. Josephine traveled extensively to places like New York City, and many times to Florida, Texas, Arizona, and California. She also traveled to Hawaii and Ireland. She enjoyed dancing and having a good time at the casinos. She was a hard worker and had raised seven children all by herself. She loved her family, and she will be missed as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Josephine is survived by her children Cindy Klark and husband James of Warren, PA, James Schmader and wife Sherril of Lottsville, PA, Joan Shattuck of Warren, PA, Donna Carlstrom of Warren, PA, Marie Crouse and husband Matt of Warren, PA, and Jody Lauffenburger of Warren, PA; sister Pauline Desimone of Warren, PA; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; son in law David Cushner; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Josephine is preceded in death by her daughter Nancy Cushner; granddaughter Jennifer Bishop; brother Sam Gerardi; sister Ruth Fair, and son-in-law Dean Shattuck.
