Josephine T. Briggs, 104, of Warren, PA, passed away on March 9, 2022, at Warren Manor.
Josephine was born on August 21, 1917, the daughter of the late Henry and Lillian Irwin Tremblay. She was a graduate of Warren High School. Josephine sold Avon products prior to working at New Process Company for nearly 25 years, from which she retired . Josephine was a member of the Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church and was involved in the Holy Name Society for many years.
Josephine had a profound sense of humor and was always smiling, and she enjoyed singing and dancing. She also enjoyed bowling, camping, and playing cards. Josephine will long be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother wonderful cook, and a friend to many.
Josephine is survived by four children Beverly Lawson and husband Kenneth of Booneville, NY, Roger Briggs of Hermitage, PA, Deborah Bednez and husband John of Custer City, PA, and Todd Briggs of Warren, PA; a sister Helen English of Starbrick, PA; twelve grandchildren; twenty- three great grandchildren; and four great- great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death in 2004 by her husband Willard Mason Briggs, whom she married on May 10, 1941; son Wellan Briggs; brothers John, Miles, and Leo Tremblay; sisters Stella Jeffords and Rosalie Woerth; an infant brother Alzer and infant sister Mary.
Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penna Ave. E. Warren, PA, on Sunday March 13, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Monday March 14, at the Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 11 Russell St. Warren, PA, with Rev. Stephen Schreiber, officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions in memory of Josephine can be made to Charity of Choice.
