John M. Smaroff, 83 of Clarendon, passed away on October 25, 2026. John was born on November 5, 1942, in Ellsworth, PA, the son of Mike and Mary Smaroff. After graduation from Ellsworth High School in 1960, John served his country proudly in the United States Navy. John worked at Betts Industries for 38 years before he retired. He was a simple man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting at Sheffield Rod and Gun Club, and of course spending time with his family.

John found the love of his life Gretchen Vantassel. They spent every minute that they could together, whether it was hunting, fishing, or simply just going for a drive. After her passing in 2020, John was left with a broken heart. It is a relief to know that they are reunited once again.

John is survived by his children, Sheri Berdine; John E. (Carrie) Smaroff; Joel (Michele) Williams; Sherrie (Denny) Hodak; Craig Williams; Lonny (Jean) Williams; his brother Mike (Francine) Smaroff; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

John is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved partner, his sister; Phyliss (Jack) Daniels; and his son Kurt Williams.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Pennsylvania Ave E. Warren, PA 16365. There will be no public services.
