Obituary

Joanne L. Oriole, 77, of Warren went to her eternal rest on September 3, 2026. Joanne was born to Anders and Jeanette Werlin on May 8, 1949. After graduating from Warren High School in 1967, Joanne attended community college in Mississippi before meeting the love of her life, James Oriole, and they married on October 17, 1970.

Joanne enjoyed crocheting, reading romance novels and spending quality time with her family. She enjoyed relaxing with the Golden Girls on TV or one of many other classics. Joanne always enjoyed traveling, even if she did not get to as much as she would have liked. Some of her highlight trips included visits to family in New Jersey where she and James began their life together, summer vacations in Niagara Falls, and a special anniversary trip to Quebec. Joanne always loved her furry friends, often having cats; dogs; birds and even rabbits as pets.

Joanne is survived by her children, Jonathan (Uziel Gonzalez) Oriole and Jeanine (Dave) Carter; her furry grandchildren, Sable, Apollo and Afrodita; her sister, Lynne Loranger; and several nieces and nephews.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Pennsylvania Ave E. Warren, PA 16365. Friends and family are welcome for calling hours on Tuesday, September 8, from 5-7PM. An additional calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 9, from 12-1PM with a funeral service to follow, officiated by Rev. Nancy Schwanke.
