JoAnn P. Lauffenburger, 78, of Warren, PA, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, following a brief illness. JoAnn was born March 17, 1939, in Warren, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice Theresa (Johnson) Plowright.
JoAnn was a 1957 graduate of Warren High School. She worked for Warren Bank & Trust, and then Warren National Bank until her children were born. For 41 years, she was a member of the Ladies' Church Bowling League, of which she served as President for 36 years. She was also a member of the BGs—Bowling Grandmas, for 35 years. A great supporter of veterans', JoAnn volunteered as a caretaker for the veteran memorials at Oakland Cemetery; and as photographer and videographer for the Warren County Memorial Park services. She enjoyed gardening at home and for Bob & Sally Metzgar.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Paul E. Lauffenburger, Jr.; two daughters, Debbie Brown, and husband, Michael, of Warren, PA, and Patti DiPenti, and husband, Tim, also of Warren, PA; one son, Todd Lauffenburger, and wife, Mary, of Akeley, PA; one sister, Janie Culver, and husband, John, of Scandia, PA; five grandchildren, Brian Brown, Justin DiPenti, Kyle DiPenti, Kayla Lauffenburger, and Jenna Lauffenburger; one great-granddaughter, Bailey Staulder; her "bowling daughter," Kellie; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by two brothers who died in infancy.
Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penn. Ave. E., Warren, on Sunday, May 21, from 4 to 7 p.m., and at the First United Methodist Church, 200 Market Street, Warren, on Monday, May 22, from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time a funeral service will be held there with Dr. Rev. Mark E. Hecht, pastor, and Brian Grimm, chaplain, FCI McKean, co-officiating.
Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park.
