Jere M. Andersen, 69, of Corry, PA and formerly of Russell, PA and Jamestown, NY, passed away at the Corry Memorial Hospital on July 16, 2024. Jere ("Fats") was born November 29, 1954, in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late Donald J. Andersen Sr. and Diedra Peterson Andersen. Jere was a 1973 graduate of Eisenhower High School. Through high school he worked at Bill Hale's Akeley store and then worked the remainder of his work life as a spray painter for Hope's Windows for 41 years. Jere loved driving his Jeeps, and his motorcycles. He had plenty through the years. He also loved tending to and caring for all of his house plants, and his aquarium fish. He was very generous through his working years to friends who needed "a little help." He is survived by three brothers, Donald J. Andersen Jr. and companion Nicki of Hiram, GA, Jeffery Andersen and companion Jill Christensen of Warren, PA, Jay Andersen and wife Linda of Russell, PA, one sister, Melanie Firth and husband Benjamin of Anchor Point, AK, and multiple nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jere was preceded in death by three nephews. He was godfather to many. A memorial service will be planned by the family at a future time.
