Jean Ann Turner Engle, 89, of Orchard Street, Warren, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA.

Jean was born June 18, 1927 in Warren, PA, the daughter of the late Lloyd H. and Charlotte (Barto) Turner. She was a longtime Warren resident and attended Warren High School.

She was employed as an inspector for many years at Sylvania, Loranger's, and Inter-Electric from which she retired. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Senior Fellowship and the Women's Missionary. She and her late husband enjoyed travelling, senior trips, the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, and U.S. Coast Guard Reunions. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Jean enjoyed making hand made greeting cards, stamping, knitting and crafting, an especially enjoyed her family. She also enjoyed her neighbor friends, her church family, and always appreciated their kindness and support.

She is survived by one son, David Engle, of Pleasantville, PA and his fiancé Alice Wood, of Warren, a cousin, whom she considered a sister, Connie Semintelli of Erie, PA, cousins, Bill Barto, Julie Barto, Jay Barto, Dennis Strandburg, Charles Strandburg, Quay Strandburg; Sue Ellen Strandburg, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death on December 5, 2009 by her husband, Robert E. Engle, whom she married on June 20, 1947; her daughter-in-law, Sharyn Engle on August 11, 2015, and her longtime friend, Dixie Weldon , with whom she helped with estate sales.

Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, PA, on Tuesday, January 31, from 6 to 8 pm, and at the First Lutheran Church, 109 W. Third Ave., Warren, for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held there at 11 am, with The Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park, Warren.
