Carlson Date of Death: April 30, 2016 ____________________________________________________________________________ Janice Marlene Carlson, 73, formerly of Walnut Street, Warren, PA, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Rouse Home in Youngsville, PA., following an extended illness. Janice was born May 10, 1942 in Warren, PA. She is the daughter of the late Lawrence and Leona (Benson) Carlson. She is survived by her cousins and their families. A lifelong Warren resident, Janice was a 1960 graduate of Warren High School, and was employed at National Fuel Gas for thirty-six years, until her retirement in 1997. Janice was involved with the supervisory board at NFG Federal Credit Union on the west side of Warren. She was a lifetime member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, and church activities were a very important part of her life. Janice always took time to help others, whenever she saw the need. Although her traditional family was small, her friends and neighbors became her family. She enjoyed bowling, playing Bocce, and playing cards and trips with her friends. She will be sadly missed by the many people fortunate enough to have known her. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 306 Conewango Ave., Warren, with Rev. Lawrence Scofield, pastor, officiating. A luncheon will follow at the church. Calling hours will be Wednesday, May 4, for one hour prior to the service at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Warren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 306 Conewango Ave., Warren, PA 16365 or the Warren Library Association, 205 Market St., Warren, PA 16365.
